August 10, 2008Otakon is considered the second largest and one of the longest-running Anime conventions in the United States. As of 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Otakon’s paid attendance was approximately 23,000, surpassing last year’s event total of 22,852. I have not attended the meeting myself, but some others did. Bahaha, that second video is awesome stuff. I need to start saving some money for next year! Baltimore ain’t that far from Montreal…
Better start working on my Zero costume too!
Yup, it seems people had fun there.
Good luck making that costume
I… RAGE… against the number of TF2 and Batman: The Dark Knight cosplayers…
haha Such is the US culture of today
It would be fun to see a frequency distribution of cosplayers by anime or movie. From what I gathered, some of the cosplayers were nice, so it wasn’t too bad, wasn’t it?
Well, there were some cosplayers that were too busy to pose for a picture… including a really good Range Murata pair
Then again, I got most of them in the Dealer Room where it’s the busiest and most people are more interested in buying stuff rather than posing. I’m sure I inconvenienced more than a few even though they allowed pictures :\
But overall, the cosplayers were really nice and most allowed a mini-photo session to go on
Range Murata! Oh noes! He is one of my favorite artists… He had a great influence on Yoshitoshi Abe, whose art I like even more
Ah, camping the Dealer Room sounds like a good plan!
Oh, don’t worry about inconveniencing them – most people like to pose
[...] I see that some of you had an opportunity to test the prototype at Otakon 2008… [...]
It would have been nice if you had gone.
Yup, it would have been nice. I was busy with work at that time.
