The episode was quite sad and featured distinct visual character, but I was not very satisfied with the writing. It seems that they tried to give some screen time for too many sides in one episode.

There are three major ways to do that: one is to threaten them with sticks; the second is to pay them with carrots; the third is to attract them or co-opt them, so that they want what you want. Another animation of the oldest novel that is celebrating one millenium turned out quite well. Art, animation, music – all were great. I planned to blog about this anime, and this episode met my expectations
