It looks like Jone was an educated person and an excellent teacher. He did the right thing by fighting with corruption, but was he right to leave his family behind? He could have left to another city to continue his teaching, but it seems that he became disenchanted in the way human society works. Even if he left to another city, eventually, he would have faced a similar situation. That’s is why he decided to leave the rest of his life close to nature, far away from people.
Erin decided to follow her dream, choose her own path 
It seems that her connection with the flying beasts will play a key role in the future.
