I am not pleased with the prevalence of textures and their design, as well as the color choices. They should not have made Toshiharu Iijima the art director for the series… However, I am not dropping this anime yet.

ZSZS is a new season. I am not sure what you mean by DVD and scene rework.
Hasn’t the show looked like this ever since GSZS?
Although, textured backgrounds became more prevalent in GZSZ, Hirotsugu Kakoi was the art director for that anime – it looked ok. The textures and colors in ZSZS seem to be of poorer quality to me.
