Animation is a unique medium that potentially can be better than manga because it allows communication of meaning in both audio and video form. However, an extra channel of communication can be detrimental if used improperly. I am afraid this is the case with Blade of the Immortal.
Wow… The fighting scene was really terrible… They made it look like the student really wasted his energy protecting his master since the old guy clearly saw what is going on and was capable of protecting himself… Anyway, compare these two illustrations of the same person:
The last scene where Manji agrees to help Rin was just horrible. 悪い? Is that all you can say? Seriously, what kind of crap is that? Oh boy, I don’t even want to talk about music at that scene…

Damnit, this show now officially sucks lols
The music choice is horrible in this anime. They’re not very descriptive with the story line.. but I may be speaking a bit too soon. If it wasn’t for the manga, I wouldn’t be wasting my time on this anime to be honest… I just hope it gets better with each epi.
So far…I think epi 2 was a little bit better than epi 1.
