This tree was in the middle of a street in Kyoto. The sign says this tree is about 500 years old. People believe a tree God lives in such an old tree.

I think the rope, with some pieces of paper, was put there by people from the shrine near here. It means the area inside the rope, which is around the tree here, is the fields of God. This tree’s name is “Muku (ๆค‹)” but I couldn’t find the word “muku” in English.

  1. I don’t think I’ve ever personally seen a tree older than a hundred years. A consequence of being born and raised in a big city where “tree = hunk of wood standing in the way of my new apartment complex”.

By the way, that’s a great header image of Nagi by her tree. Know where I can get an HQ version? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Yes, living in a city all the time can be boring. It is nice to visit parks sometimes ๐Ÿ™‚ I had a great opportunity to visit Yosemite National Park and enjoyed the wonderful views of the mountains and giant sequoia ๐Ÿ™‚ I highly recommend it if you get a chance ๐Ÿ™‚

Sure, here is the HQ version of the picture ๐Ÿ™‚ ( I had to go to the dark side of the internet to retrieve it though ๐Ÿ˜› )
