  1. Boooo I have vista at home 😦 But I have xp at work… 🙂

Not that I ever see my desk anymore, I’m practically chained to the surgery room 😦

    1. Oh, you should definitely install it at work – Sebastian will pop out of that theme and help you 😛

I hope your workload will subside soon!

  2. Thanks for the link! I have vista too, but the sounds, desktop, cursors and icons can still be used. The background images for the start and folder windows are the only things not compatiable with vista.

  3. Oh… my… God!!! I’m so glad I’m still in the caves of Windows XP!!! >.< Thanks for sharing this and I’ll DL it nao!!! Kyaaa~~~!!!

  4. GAH I dont know how to get it to work. my XP says it cant find the file cuz its in .RAR mode.

    HAAAAAALLLLP!!! D=

  5. etto…there’s an error occuring in winrar…mah..wat should i dowhat sould i do wif winrar?…mah thanks for the repz..raelly need yer help..^^..

    1. Does the error occur when you try to unzip the the archive?

Sometimes the errors happen when the name of the archive is weird. You can try renaming it to Kuroshitsuji or some other word and try to unzip after that 🙂

  6. Ahh…problems =A=;

I extracted it all from winrar, but when I try to open the exe. file to install the theme, it says it can’t locate the files needed, but they’re in a folder on the desktop labeled ‘Kuroshitsuji’. What’s the problem, here? :/ Could you help me, please?

    1. Usually, when you need to change the theme, you right-click on the desktop, click Properties, then in the pulldown menu choose Browse, and then select the theme file. Let me know if you have further problems.

  7. I had extracted it, and it has a kuroshitsuji.theme file and a folder named kuroshitsuji. I dont know what to do next. I tried to click on the kuroshitsuji.theme and then got a notice: “The theme could not load because of the needed theme files could not be found. This can happened with themes that are not installed or authored correctly. You should verify that the wallpaper, screensaver, icons, sounds, and other files are in the correct location.”

But i dont know where to put into all those files.
    Please help me! ><
    Thank you so much!

    1. I’ll just quote myself 😛 “Usually, when you need to change the theme, you right-click on the desktop, click Properties, then in the pulldown menu choose Browse, and then select the theme file.” It should work this way 🙂

    1. Hmm… I don’t know why it tells you that you are missing something. If you tell me what you did and what you are missing I might help you further.

  8. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I HAVE A VISTA!!!!
they should make one for vista….
    I WANTED IT SOOOO BADLY!!!

    1. Unfortunately, it is for XP, but the creators might make another version for vista given sufficient resources and demand. Consider contacting them.

    1. Please tell me at what step you have difficulties with. Also, you can check out the comments in this post and see if you have similar problems to other people and can implement some solutions suggested here.

  9. Hi. I downloaded this, put the files in the themes folder. Unfortunately the windows and buttons seems to be missing when I load it up.

  10. Hello There.
I’m having some difficulties of the theme o.o..
I’ve downloaded the theme and opened it.
But it didn’t worked. It keeps saying “The theme could not load because of the needed theme files could not be found. This can happened with themes that are not installed or authored correctly. You should verify that the wallpaper, screensaver, icons, sounds, and other files are in the correct location.”
I’ve tried comparing it with the other problems that people have but when i browse the theme i can’t find the theme that’s in the folder.. =/
Can you help me with this problem?

  11. hello, i’m a real big fan of kuroshitsuji so i was really glad when i found this theme recently. i’ve patched my uxtheme, and i can use the theme. with only one problem!!
the start menu doesn’t have a background or vstyle, its in windows classic mode. the taskbar and the windows have vstyles. what could be the problem and how do i fix it?
i have windows xp service pack 3.
    thank u so much!

    1. It sounds like it is working for you with the exception of some features. You mentioned that you patched uxtheme. I wonder if that modification has something to do with it.

      1. Hello, i found out the problem and i was able to fix it. I’m now enjoying the theme, although i changed the wallpaper 🙂
It turned out the start menu was set to classic; you can change it by right clicking the taskbar > properties >start menu tab > and selecting the Start Menu check box.

        Thanks!!

  12. I’ve gotten, “The theme could not load because of the needed theme files could not be found. This can happened with themes that are not installed or authored correctly. You should verify that the wallpaper, screensaver, icons, sounds, and other files are in the correct location.” I’ve ripped the theme from it’s RAR state and followed your Click on the desktop and select properties and go to themes and click browse. When I do that I can see the Kuro theme and when I click it, it gives me the same error message. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but it seems that nothing will work. Can you help me?

    1. after unpacking the rar file, try copying all the contents and pasting it in C:>windows>resources>themes

then try running the kuroshituji.theme from there, the windows properties themes tab should pop up

  13. Hello,

I was really glad when I found this theme, but now I have a small problem.

The start menu and my folders don’t have background images, and the skin didn’t work ( The taskbar remain the same, it did not change to black T_T . How can I fix that? I did visit Sola 1412 and read Not Fair’s blogs but I haven’t found the answer yet. Can you help me?

I would be very appreciated if I had some help TT_TT. Thank you.
