Thanks to the comments of several visitors, I read some excellent news recently π You might have already heard it, but I’ll reiterate it anyway just in case.
Junichi Suwabe, the voice actor of the Undertaker character in the anime adaptation of Yana Toboso’s Kuroshitsuji manga, has revealed in a Sunday blog entry that a second season has been green-lit.
The official website for the Kuroshitsuji anime corroborates Suwabe’s report of a second anime season. (ANN)
I am very excited about this! π I will definitely consider covering the second season if I have time. It will be not easy to match the quality of the first season though, unless the same team works on the second one. Almost everything about Kuroshitsuji anime was great, except the plot that deviated from the manga and evoked the wrath of some fans ( I thought it was ok – Angela ftw! π ). I wonder if they will take the Fullmetal Alchemist approach with the second season by following manga more closely.

Ah, I heard that the second season will start off where it ended. Something about Sebastian’s arm being torn off. Since it was his contract arm he wasn’t able to kill Ciel. (So ive heard)

That… sounds a bit nonsensical. The part about not being able to kill Ciel because of his arm seems farfetched but I can accept that. But I doubt that they will make him human.
But we will see when the second season begins ^^

Several people mentioned that the second season will be a continuation of the first one because Sebastian lost his contract arm. Also Sebastian might turn into a human.
i like that the anime doesn’t follow the manga…it keeps me guessing what happens. also, it gives the anime creative license to play with the characters (I β€ grell) and offers us fanservice. woohoo. besides, i already follow the manga – why watch a watered down version of it?

I’m hoping they won’t take a completely different ehhh road I guess from the manga, despite being totally envious of Beast, I liked the circus ark, I think it would make a great second season, but of course I’m assuming they’d have to get some things worked out and all for it to make sense of course. Kitsune, do you read the manga?

I read some manga, but not up-to-date on it right now. I heard that the circus ark is good. The manga seems to have a darker tone than anime.

I had been looking up to see for any updates and learned about the Kuroshitsuji Musical, had you heard of it?
Also I’m very excited, that Black Box in the CD section of the official website was indeed the soundtrack to the series =D It’s being released on the 26th of August, it has the soundtrack, character songs and the openings and endings!
Just in case you didn’t know, I look forward to the music on it, I’m dying to know and have that piece that played during the last scene before the credits.

I am very excited about the OST because it is one of the two that I’ve been waiting for a very long time (the other one is Xam’d). Kuroshitsuji music is great! π

and IMO Sebastian is way too feminine for his role as the black butler, so him being human is the right thing to do.

Mmm, actually I can’t imagine what ever they’re going to do in S2. Despite all the theories I still can’t see how Ciel would still be alive, and how Sebastian would stay loyal beside him.
And the story. Many would like to see the circus arc, but at some circumstances… I think it’d be a little awkward. Well, I guess I just have to wait.
Yes, it is still unclear what the writers are going to do. The wait is not that long – it should be released sometime next year π
Does everyone here get that Sebastion and Ciel are like…TOGETHOR. I mean seriously there has been SO many signs during the first season, even if Ciel and Elizabeth are engaged.
