  1. […] Star Crossed Anime Blog – Metanorn – Hashihime – Kitsune’s Thoughts – Undercover – Néant […]

  2. I love your choices on best OP. The most captivating one is probably Karma; Raiji running around, struggling, falling and the background shows women of the anime that are influential to him or who manipulate him. combined with the haunting song – perfection.

    • Thank you🙂 Indeed, Karma is the best OP🙂

  3. 3 words for Hikaru Nanase : banzai! banzai! banzai!

her OSTs for Phantom & Canaan basically made 2009 a very good year for me. haha, especially Phantom’s Cello version & Canaan’s theme (in all the variations)🙂
glad someone else enjoyed them too.

    • Yay for Hikaru Nanase – I love her music🙂 She is the best this year🙂

I look forward to Canaan OST, it might be even better than Phantom🙂

      • looks like 2010 may be the year for Ohsima Michiru again: So-Ra-No-Wo-To’s ost so far is pretty nice🙂

        • Indeed, I like her music in that anime🙂

  4. Nice list!🙂 Glad to see kiseki make it to your favorites. Koi Kogarete is a great tune, makes me feel nostalgic every single time. Ayaka has a really awesome voice~ Kimi no Shiranai is love. I think Zetsuobou Restaurant is one of the best SZS songs. And I agree that Eden of the East has a very nice and unique ED. ^_^

    • Thank you🙂

I didn’t follow that series, but I heard kiseki, thanks to you ^_^

Koi Kogarete is very good and fitting for that scene in the beginning episode.

Indeed, Kimi no Shiranai is one of the best songs this year🙂

Yes, Zetsuobou Restaurant turned out very well🙂

It is rare to see stop motion animation in anime – it was utilized well in Eden of the East.

  5. Oh, SZS ED is rad, did not follow that series this year🙂 (rawr, I still need to do a couple posts like thing orz)

    • haha I also didn’t follow the series, but SHAFT OP/ED tend to be very good🙂

  6. I 100% agree with ALL of your OP’s (first page) I loved all those ones as well.

The ED’s I only agree with Shangri-La😄 (second page)

Guin Saga ED was by far the best that series was amazing!

    • Yay! It sounds like our preferences match to some extent🙂

haha Well, at least you liked Shangri-La🙂

Yes, Guin Saga ED is excellent – the song is very nice🙂

  7. Interesting picks. We share some similar favourites. :-)…My picks in short:-
Karma is the best OP of 2009 imo, unbeatable OP sequence with the perfect theme. Oyasumi Paradox by Etsuko Yakushimaru is a distant 2nd. Futuristic Imagination with its fab stop motion animation visuals and Saga ~this is my road~ with it’s gorgeous and colourful art tied as best ED for me.

Best OP Songs: Kukikodan’s Aoi Hana, Tomofumi Tanizawa’s Kimi ni Todoke and Akino Arai’s Mitsu no Yoake. There aren’t really many stand out ED songs. However, Younha’s Kioku is particularly memorable. It’s a good pop song. Ayaka’s Cross Game ED song is a strong and lovely ballad. Supercell’s Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari is quite catchy.

My fav ani-music composers for 2009 – Kenji Kawaii for Eden’s ost, Yoshikawa Kei for Basquash’s ost, Haketa Takefumi for Aoi Hana’s ost. Other notable composers include Ken Muramatsu’s work for Umi Monogatari and Nanase Hikaru’s musical direction for Phantom & Canaan. Even though Kuroshitsuji’s ost was released in 2009, it still belong to the 2008 category. But yes, I absolutely adore Iwasaki Taku’s Kuro scores. Somewhat predictable…haha🙂

    • Thank you for a detailed comment🙂

Yes, we have a similar taste🙂

Ah, thank you for mentioning Arai’s song🙂 I have not watched that foxy, so missed it!

haha I have not heard any of the OSTs you mention! Thank you for recommending them – I’ll check them out🙂 Especially, I am looking forward to Kenji Kawai’s OST because I enjoy his music🙂

      Indeed, Iwasaki is great🙂

  8. Ah K-on and Bakemonogatari endings. I did really like those. On a side-note I also loved one of the endings in Gundam 00 2nd season. Trust you by Yuna Ito it made me cry a lot.

    • Yes, especially Bakemonogatari ED is good🙂

I have not watched Gundam 00, so I am not familiar with the song. It seems this song impressed you🙂
