  1. originality is a notion created in the civilization of the written word. there’s a thing called intertextuality and there’s another called collective memory. originality doesn’t really exist. genres aren’t a bad thing. some people call them cliches but if they didn’t exist we couldn’t communicate and of course we couldn’t label something as fresh rather than the old usual stuff. it’s the personal touch of the director/author/musician etc and his intentions as well the combination of techniques that bring a ‘new’ result that’s appreciated more than others
