Freeze frame! Nov. 06 and Nov. 07. Dollar difference! The beginning of the downturn. XD It’s lack of falling back to the $2/gal. level is what helped lead to $4/gal. this summer.
It’s a good graph for sure, helps show how poor I am at the pump. XD
Yup, it is crazy now. I hope it will go down eventually. We need to implement alternative fuel! (not going to happen anytime soon though)
Yeah if McCain wins we’re going down hill. We need to stop giving rebates to the oil companies and give them to companies specializing in alternative resources.
The problem is not only in the development of the alternative energy, but in leaving old industry behind. I have some doubts that they are going to let go so easily.
Your probably right. Bush and McCain are in bed with the Oil companies and the HealthCare companies (watch sicko if you already haven’t). It will be very very hard to get out of this mess. But it can’t be done, if the right person is made for president.
I don’t think that even a right president would have such a power because not only one nation is involved.
“But it can’t be done”
I meant can.
Ahem. I do believe that when one nation fixes part of the problem others will be influenced. And it can be done, I was specifically talking about geting out of bed with the Oil and HealthCare companies. First we can stop giving tax rebates to them, and switch to Universal HealthCare.
We can certainly try, and the steps you mention is one of the ways to do some progress.
Yes, and we will absolutely fail if McCain wins. Here are my reasons against McCain (if you don’t mind):
1. He voted for the war
2. He’s too old
3. Just because he’s a war hero doesn’t mean his success in that field will transfer over to presidency, as seen with Ulysses S. Grant. He was a very achieved and experienced general, but was ultimately a poor unknowledgeable president. No offense, it’s just his skills are limited to the field.
4. He’s a homophobe. Here’s a quote from the Times (magazine):
“‘So you’ll walk me down the aisle?’
Ellen Degeneres, talk show host, to Republican presidential candidate John McCain, after he told her that while he opposes gay marriage, he wishes her every happiness. Degeneres and partner Portia de Rossi plan to wed after California’s gay-marriage ban lapses on June 14th.”
You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7addd1-SY8
5. Oh and he will drill the East coast and Alaska!
6. He’s republican.
And I could go on, but I do like to rant for long periods of time.
haha That a fun clip 🙂
