So I’ve been analyzing the psychology of why Sebastian would be considered hot, relating it to the psychology of the “smut” genre (I just finished Haou Airen a little while ago), and I think that it’s that “dark” side that is the hot part. A sweet sort of violence; a rose with black petals, kind of thing. But I think that the appeal roots itself from suppressed desires within the individual, constrained by societal standards of what is good and right unleashed by its antithesis, darkness laced with beauty.
Does that sound about right?

Eloquence won’t save you from the idiocity you’re demonstrating by believing in the 19th century principles of Freudian psychanalysis. It continually amazes me to notice how many people think there is a scientific basis to such nonsense.
Freud was wrong on many things, and he does tend to be studied more extensively in departments of literature rather than psychology, but he had some good insights and psychodynamic therapy is practiced even today.
Oops I forgotten to comment on this. (: Well what can I say, this was a great birthday present. 😀 Haha thank you very much for this, as I didn’t get any presents this year. And referring to the comment before mine, I quite like the analogy used to describe him, although it can also be used to represent a few other characters that I’ve came across in novels.
